Pondoland Pride Brings EcoRollers to Seaview Community
July2026
On 17 July, Pondoland Pride delivered EcoRollers to vulnerable households in Seaview Community, Eastern Cape, with the support of the Seaview Water Committee.
The EcoRollers were awarded to Pondoland Pride as part of the Roll It Home Youth Month Initiative, recognizing the organization’s commitment to environmental stewardship and community development. Through this partnership, women and families who previously carried heavy containers over long distances can now roll up to 70 litres of water home in a single trip, reducing the physical burden of daily water collection.
The handover took place on the eve of Mandela Day, providing a meaningful reminder that improving access to water is about more than convenience—it is about restoring dignity, improving health, and creating opportunities for communities to thrive.
Pondoland Pride also used the occasion to highlight the shared responsibility of protecting local water resources. Clean rivers, protected springs, and well-maintained water infrastructure are essential to ensuring that communities continue to have reliable access to safe water for generations to come.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Seaview Water Committee for their leadership and ongoing commitment to serving their community. Partnerships like these demonstrate how local organizations working together can create practical, sustainable solutions to one of rural South Africa’s greatest daily challenges.
We are proud to support Pondoland Pride and look forward to following the impact these EcoRollers will have on the families of Seaview in the months ahead.
